World beating result in the International Baccalaureate

Kent College pupil Eva Harris achieved an incredible result in the recent International Baccalaureate Diploma. She gained maximum marks of 45 points. Only 150 students in the world managed this outstanding feat. Eva is going on to study Medicine at Oxford University. While at school Eva, an academic scholar, won several national competitions including the NPower Go Set competition in 2011 and the Science of Life Physiological Society Competition 2014:

Gold prize went to Eva Harris from Kent College Canterbury for her project on 'How does the Glycemic Index of different breakfast cereals affect cognitive performance in school students throughout the morning?' Eva said, "When I first heard about this competition I had a feeling that it would be something special and that feeling was definitely right! It was a fantastic experience which has given me a real taste of what scientific research could be like. I did not expect to win, but I was delighted and I am now considering a career in medical research."

Eva attended Lorenden School prior to joining Kent College at the age of 11 she has been able to make the most of her time at school by studying an accelerated curriculum which included Open University level work from Year 11 upwards.
