Kent College Canterbury

Kent College is one of only a few schools in the UK that can boast a well developed, working farm within it’s school campus. The School Farm extends to over 50 acres of pasture, with a variety of barns and covered livestock housing areas.  We farm a wide range of livestock, including a breeding herd of Sussex Cattle, a small flock of Texel Sheep and a free range pig enterprise. The Farm is also home to numerous small animals including chickens, ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs and ferrets.

Kent College Equine Unit: The farm site has recently diversified to include a dedicated equine centre, which provides both livery and riding facilities for pupils at Kent College Senior and Junior Schools.  A range of livery options are available for pupils who wish to bring their horse or pony to School with them and details can be obtained from the Farm Manager, Mr Graham Palmer (This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.). The Equine Centre is also home to a number of ponies, which are available for riding lessons at all levels.  Riding lessons at the Equine Centre are offered to pupils at Kent College Senior and Junior School as an extra-curricular activity.

Kent College Young Farmers' Club: There has been a farming club at Kent College since 1953, and we are proud that current pupils maintain an active and enthusiastic group today.  The Young Farmers' Club is open to any member of Kent College Senior and Junior Schools and activities are available to suit all tastes (even 'fair-weather' farmers!)
