Kent College Canterbury

These children are the senior pupils in the school and are all given numerous opportunities to take on responsibility and learn leadership skills. As they prepare for senior school, they see specialist teachers for all subjects. They are in form groups of approximately 11-14 children.

Setting by ability and potential continues in their English and Maths lessons and they are on an accelerated academic learning programme in these subjects, ICT and Modern Foreign languages that can lead to them achieving qualifications early in their senior school lives. All children are involved in our GREAT (Gifted, Really Enthusiastic, Able and Talented programme). Curriculum summaries are sent home each term and there are regular and comprehensive progress reports to parents.

All children have the opportunity to enjoy and experience residential visits with us offering a four day outdoor adventure trip to Northern France and a four day cultural visit to Paris. They also take part in the regular one night sports tours that take place each term.

Each day sees the children start by studying English and Maths before progressing on to the enrichment opportunities. At the end of the school day there are a full range of after school activities for the children to attend until five or six o clock.HMOD
